I am a Mallu n Proud to be One!;)

A year of ma stay outside my very own state,Kerala made me realise something."Mallus" as we are called in recent times or what we call ourselves nowadays are subject to a lotta raised eyebrows.."Mallu, huh? But you don't look like one.." .I got to hear that really very often!Over the days spent,i realised that we are really one misunderstood lot!!Though we aren't entirely to blame,you may say blame it on a few of us,like they say one rotten apple can spoil the lot..;) It's time to clear the air we have created ourselves..Well,apart from the fact that u accept ours is a real beautiful state,here are a few more that u ought to know.!Helloji,are u reading this "non- mallus"??!

1.Priyadarshan isn't the only movie maker around.True,his movies were nonsense when remade into our "rashtrabhaasha" but they were of some real class in Malayalam.A class apart!!Mallu movies aren't all about uncles running around trees behind young girls.Thankfully the Wational award we got twice in a row should prove this point.

2.We make our curries in coconut oil.We fry our fishes in coconut oil,we apply it on our hair.But is that a crime?You use mustard and groundnut oil and u squeeze the heck out of those sunflower seeds!Thankfully ours is a land rich in coconuts n all d parts are used of the marvellous fruit are used.We do not believe in wasting any part of the lovely tree..aah,do i love the smell of freshly made coconut oil..Many would reflect my sentiments i guess and its what i missed most (apart from my family of course) *tears in eyes*

3.We aren't all Lolakuttys.We do not all have oiled hair n wear jasmine n flaunt around in colourfull cheap silk sarees.We mallus are such sports that we didn't even file a case for mockery of Malayalis,which is the trend nowadays!!That female went overboard with her slick humour but we did laugh too!

4.We don't really have wierd accents with 'yemm' n 'yenn'..Have u ever heard yourself guys??!!n even if we do have it,its just our way of saying "m a mallu n proud to be one.If you have a problem with it,we care two hoots about it!!"

5.Banana chips aren't the only thing we eat.For one,I cannot stand the sight of it!But in a land ,abundant in banana,u cannot really sleep on it n take bath with it,can u?!?They are rich in iron,so why waste it.Consume it in all form u can!Oh btw,we even use the stalk n d flower..They are yumm..You should give a try someday!

6.We do use a lot of gold.It's like our custom.but we dont really strut around the place ,wearing them when we go veggie shopping!The pics you have seen are only on our weddings!And yeah, half of d gold jewelleries in your city are owned by "Mallus".Read 'hallmarked 916 gold' on your mommies n wives n girlfriends!!

7.We aren't really all Communists!!The recent elections should prove that.(i.e if u read the papers n watch d news!)

8.We spell dosa as 'dosha'!!with 'sh' as in 'shaitan' n 'sher'..Not wit an 's' as in 'saabun',like u do!

9.We don't all eat a lot of non-veg.True we maybe like the only state where Hindus eat red meat,but that shows our spirit n lack of boundaries!:D If we were all vegans,probably global warming would have come into picture long back;)

10.We do not all have dads in the gulf!Yeah mayb our uncles,but be thankful that the rich N.R.Is bring in GDP!!Read better roads,infrastructure(i.e if used in the right way!)

11.And here comes the most important one.Mallus are supposed to be extremely stingy..Well,the newly discovered vault in the temple should prove we are not..;)

Jokes apart,we could make jokes on you too.Sadly u might just not have our sense of humour.We are mallus man..n m definitely proud to be one..Anyday!!:)
